1. Who we are
Tye is an iOS application developed and operated by MVP Enterprises s.r.o., Korunní 2569/108, Vinohrady, 101 00 Praha 10, Czech Republic, Company ID 29933005 (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are the controller of any personal data processed in connection with the app. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at info@mvpenterprises.eu.
2. What data Tye stores
Tye is a local-first application. All data you create in Tye, including people you add, memories you log, vault entries, milestones and photos, is stored only on your device.
We have no access to this data. It does not leave your device unless you back it up through iCloud backup, which is managed by Apple, not by us.
Data stored locally includes:
- names, relationship types and photos of people you add,
- vault items (preferences, places, gift ideas) for each person,
- memory logs and milestone dates,
- app settings (appearance, notification preferences),
- purchase status, so the paywall is not shown after purchase.
We do not:
- require an account or registration,
- transmit personal data to our servers,
- collect location data,
- access your address book without your explicit action,
- use advertising identifiers.
3. Analytics
Tye uses PostHog for anonymised product analytics, which helps us understand how features are used in aggregate so we can improve the app.
Analytics are opt-in only. You are asked for consent during onboarding and can change your choice at any time in Settings. If you opt out, no analytics data is collected or sent. With your consent we collect:
- anonymised screen views and feature interactions,
- crash reports and performance metrics,
- device type and iOS version.
No personally identifiable information, including names, emails or anything you enter into the app, is ever included in analytics events. The legal basis is your consent.
4. In-app purchases
Tye offers a one-time lifetime purchase processed through Apple's App Store. We never handle payment details; billing is managed by Apple.
Purchase status is verified through RevenueCat, a third-party service used to confirm and restore purchases. RevenueCat may process a pseudonymous user identifier for this purpose.
5. Notifications
Tye can send local notifications to remind you of milestones and check-ins. They are scheduled on your device and do not involve any server. You can turn them off in the app or in iOS Settings, and enable private mode to hide names on your lock screen.
6. Third-party services
- Apple App Store: app distribution and payment processing (privacy policy)
- RevenueCat: purchase verification and restoration (privacy policy)
- PostHog: anonymised analytics, opt-in only (privacy policy)
7. Children's privacy
Tye is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app is intended for adults.
8. Data security
Because your data stays on your device, it is protected by your device's own security: passcode, Face ID or Touch ID and iOS encryption. We deliberately do not store your data on servers to keep the attack surface minimal.
9. Your rights
Because we do not collect or store your personal data, you exercise most rights directly on your device:
- Access and export: your data is in your device's local storage.
- Deletion: delete entries in the app, use Settings → Your data → Delete all data, or uninstall Tye.
- Analytics opt-out: in the app's settings.
- Notifications: Settings → Reminders in the app, or iOS Settings.
If you are in the EU, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in the Czech Republic the Office for Personal Data Protection (uoou.gov.cz). If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA. We do not sell personal data.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted in the app or on this page. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
